IPAI: Igbere War Dance, traditionally called “Ikperikpe Ogu ndi Igbere” or “Iri Agha ndi Igbere” is one of the core traditions of Igbere people in Igbo land. It symbolizes many aspects of the people’s life including celebration of heroism and bravery. The war dance started as a way of commemorating victory in war.
Ikperikpe is now exhibited world wide as it is passed on from one generation to another. Igbere Ebiri people are well know to be peace loving people but are equally ready just in the event that war or confrontation becomes inevitable.
