Emmanuel Eke, (NIGERIA MOMENT).
Abuja- President-Elect, Buhari’s rejection of the APC governors list of ministerial appointments is quite in order.

From a constitutional point of view, it is not the business of Governors to nominate the president’s ministers but solely the business of the President unless he suggests that a governor does that for him.

For a long time, the presidency had got it wrong allowing state governors to mingle, inter-mingle and co-mingle with this constitutional function of the President. This is dangerous! Apart from eroding the powers of the President, it also affects the respect the President ought to have from these state governors who by the way, are his juniors in the scheme of things.

The governors must concern themselves with appointing commissioners for their various cabinets and leave the President alone to do same for his ministers. This will enable the President to choose the right kind of men and women to serve at the federal level instead of taking stooges and errand boys of this but solely the business of the President unless he suggests that a governor does that for him.
